About Cross Context

Empowering developers, researchers, and creators with universal context portability across the generative AI ecosystem.

Our Core Mission

Generative artificial intelligence has introduced a proliferation of world-class foundation models, each excelling in distinct reasoning modalities. However, user workflows remain locked within isolated web interfaces. A user brainstorming complex architecture in Anthropic Claude cannot fluidly transfer accumulated constraints, system prompts, or working documents to OpenAI ChatGPT or Google Gemini without arduous copy-pasting, losing conversational fidelity in the process.

Cross Context was created to dismantle these proprietary walls. We believe conversational context, prompt instructions, and multi-turn problem definitions belong to the user, not the provider. By establishing an open, universal schema for conversation representation and providing non-invasive browser tools, Cross Context ensures your cognitive momentum is preserved across any model.

Architectural Principles

1. Local-First & Zero-Telemetry

Cross Context operates entirely within the user's browser runtime. Conversation scraping, schema transformation, token estimation, and injection happen on-device using Manifest V3 isolated worlds. No conversation data ever leaves your computer; there are no intermediary servers, no cloud telemetry databases, and no analytics beacons tracking your prompts.

2. Universal Schema Standardization

We maintain the Open Context Exchange format—a clean JSON specification defining conversation roles, system prompts, code artifacts, citations, token consumption counts, and timestamped turns. This standardization facilitates effortless inter-model translation and empowers external agentic frameworks.

3. Agentic Interoperability (Model Context Protocol)

Beyond human-driven browser workflows, Cross Context bridges autonomous AI systems. Through our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server endpoints, coding assistants such as Claude Code, Antigravity, and OpenAI agents can programmatically inspect, query, and inject context threads into active sessions.

The Team & Open Source Community

Cross Context is spearheaded by independent developer Shriraj888 along with open-source contributors from around the world. We are committed to maintaining the core browser extension and schema libraries under the permissive MIT License.

Contributions, feature requests, and bug reports are actively welcomed on our official GitHub Repository.
